Brain Emojis

🧠 🤯

In the standard Unicode set, all emoji are divided not only by meaning or category, but also by popularity. There are some icons that are rarely used. And although, the most rarely used emoji according to statistics is “socket”, the Brain emoticon is not far from it today we will draw your attention to the Brain emoji, as well as to another , depicting a man with an exploding brain.

🧠 The Brain emoticon was assigned the code U+1F9E0, with which it was added to the People and Body section of the Unicode 10.0 standard in 2017.

🤯 The “Brain Explosion” emoticon was assigned the code U+1F92F, with which it was added to the Faces and Emotions section of the Unicode 10.0 standard in 2017.

Meaning of the Brain Emoji

And if everything is more or less clear with the first emoji depicting a cartoon pink brain, the second emoticon from our list raises questions for many users. However, let’s go in order.

🧠 The brain is the most important organ of the human body, which weighs more than one kilogram. This emoji literally calls to turn on your brains, think hard or, on the contrary, brainwash someone. You can also see this emoticon in messages related to educational or scientific activities.

🤯 Emoji with exploding head expresses that a person is experiencing emotions that create a strong tension in the mind, they can be both negative and positive or humorous in nature, when it is difficult for a person to understand what is happening or it is very difficult for him to understand.

Brain Emoji

With the help of this emoticon you can convey, for example, shock, amazement, strong tension or fatigue from the overabundance of information received, the feeling of surprise from incredible news, which, figuratively speaking, explode the brain.

You can send this emoticon to the interlocutor if he told something shocking about himself or someone else. This way you can show your extreme amazement. Or the news was so stupid that it caused a full bewilderment, “blew up the brain”. So bizarre or stupid that it’s hard to comprehend. Or in the context of “my brain is so loaded with new information that it just explodes.”

The Use of the Brain Emoji

The head explosion emoticon is used in two cases. In the first case, as “brain explosion”.That is, a person shows with this emoticon that he is in such shock that his brain is exploding.

The second meaning of this emoticon is “the roof is blown off”.That is, by putting this emoticon a person shows that he is now unable to think, to make adequate decisions.

The brain is exploding from the received information, the brain cannot digest it, so it is boiling and is ready to follow a nuclear explosion.

You can even say that this emoticon can be used together with other emoticons in order to strengthen the emotional component of the message. Like an explosion of emotion from something or for some reason.

Emoji Head Explosion

This emoticon can also reflect a state of extreme surprise, bordering on shock at what you have seen or heard.

As for the pink emoji with an anatomical image of a brain, its scope of application is much narrower: it is used in the context of “turn on your brain”, or to indicate the process of thinking or learning. It is also often seen in messages that talk about some smart person.

Conclusion

As you can see, the two brain emoji have completely different meanings. One is used more in a literal sense, while the other one depicts more of an emotion primarily associated with intense surprise or even shock. We can’t say that we’ve paid attention to some of the most popular emoticons today, but now that you’ve seen one of them, you won’t have any questions about their meaning.

And in general, you shouldn’t worry about the rapid expansion of emoji. Pictures will not be able to replace a more powerful and perfect system than language. They will remain an auxiliary means of communication, even for young people.
